A teacher is in hot water for forcing black and white students to reenact the Michael Brown shooting.
According to The Selma Times Journal, the teacher was placed on administrative leave after instructing the sixth graders to reenact the shooting.
Jessica Baughn, who has a child in the class, filed an official complaint with the school after learning that her son was made to participate in the reenactment.
“I don’t think that it needs to be talked about at school at all, let alone reenacted,” Baughn said. “It scares me as a parent, because any one of those children could have picked up their aunt, uncle, grandma or whoever’s gun and pointed it at another child and it went off accidentally.”
The kids were reportedly made to research the shooting before being required to participate in the reenactment.
According to an online posting about the incident, the black kids and the white kids played different roles.
